Chapter 9 – Writing Persuasive Messages

Of all the chapters we’ve read so far, I found this one to be the best. I liked the way the skill of writing persuasive messages was broken down into parts that seem to be learnable by anyone. After reading the chapter I don’t feel like I have to be a natural salesman to present an idea to my boss and colleagues.

  1. I know what you mean. Having a basic framework to go off of (in this case the AIDA) really helps form the argument without feeling like your being someone you’re not. Anyone can “sell” a good idea if you phrase it correctly!

  2. I’m glad you feel more comfortable now. The AIDA steps really help you focus on how best to convey your persuasive message. While it takes more time to organize things, once done, the writing flows much easier.
