Chapter 2 – Mastering Team Skills & Interpersonal Communication

I thought most of the chapter was extremely useful to the workplace today – regardless of whether you work in a formal or informal environment. I especially liked the reminders in the business etiquette online section. Online communication makes it too easy to loose all sense of propriety when communicating.

  1. Very true. I think technology is great and has even created new modes of conducting business and expanding communication. However, I also believe it has managed to deteriorate or completely diminish what used to be called “social graces” which was simple good manners and common courtesy. Face-to-face contact, gauging the body language and subtle nuances of tone and facial expressions goes a long way in communication. It would be nice if there were more of a balance.
